Our Story

At CCO, our work is rooted in pride, culture and collective growth. Through cultural celebrations, community programs and educational initiatives, we bring people together while honoring the richness of Creole heritage.

We believe culture is meant to be lived and shared. Whether you are Creole-born, Creole-raised or simply drawn to the beauty of our community, you are welcome here.

Together, we are preserving our stories, uplifting our voices and building a stronger future for generations to come.

The Creole Community at a Glance

Creole is more than a language—it's a rich blend of cultures, histories and identities. The Creole community has roots in Africa, Europe, the Caribbean, Asia and the Americas, shaped by generations of cultural exchange, migration and resilience.

Creole people are found all over the world, including in Haiti, Mauritius, Seychelles, Cape Verde, Louisiana and beyond. While each Creole culture is unique, they share a strong sense of community, creativity and pride in their heritage.

At Coalition Creole Ontario, we celebrate this diversity and work to keep our traditions alive through language, music, food and community connection. Creole is who we are—our past, our present and our future.

Our mission is simple: uplift Creole culture, strengthen community bonds and open doors for personal and professional growth across the Greater Toronto Area.
